Education of Law needs to start in Secondary & Higher Secondary Medium
Mubin Hasan Khan Ayon: To complete this article, a latin byword needs to know that, “Ignorantia juris non excusat.” It means that, ‘Ignorance of law is not an excuse.’
It is a legal principle holding that any person who is incognizant of a law may not excuse liability for violating that law merely by being unaware of its content.
Law is becoming popular and effective also day by day. It is important to learn about law for every person. A man who has no idea about law, he or she can do any offence without knowing anything. The learning of law is also important for human being to be safe and secured in the society. But one of the most problematic part is the people of Bangladesh do not practice law besides their academic education.
In our country law education is exercised only in universities and law colleges. Because of these lack of practice, general people are losing their interest to study about law. Most of the people in this society do not know the appropriate law. That is why sometimes they are exercising the wrong rule in our society, which effect is going totally wrong.
If we turn back to our education system, law education is practiced only in Honours & Masters. Students are not getting any idea about law before their higher education. No student get any idea in their secondary & higher secondary medium. So, students do not get any primary idea about law. In this century law is one of the most important subject, which should be known from the very basic of a student.
It is now becoming a demand to make a compulsory subject only for law in Secondary & Higher Secondary medium. These medium is the root for a student. If a student get a little knowledge about law from his childhood, it will help to improve the society and culture. School level is the root of education for a student. A subject which is related with law should to include from school level. Otherwise the lack of knowledge in law can not be fulfill anymore.
When education of law will be exercised from the very beginning, it will be sprayed very fast in our society. It is not a matter only for a students education. It is a matter of changing of a nation.
The authorities of our education board should taken into their account and apply the primary education for law. It will give us more than one facilities. It will help to improve our nation and also secured for the nation.
