Justice Muhammad Ansar Ali’s Death Anniversary
On 5th July, 1995, Justice Muhammad Ansar Ali, who was a renowned lawyer and experienced Justice of Bangladesh Supreme Court, passed away while discharging duties sitting in the Bench he was presiding.
Late Justice Muhammad Ansar Ali started his legal profession in the year of 1962 at Dhaka High Court and in 1968 at Pakistan Supreme Court. He was the elected senior Vice President of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, Treasurer of the said Bar Association and was also elected twice as the President of the then Rangpur High Court Bar Association.
In 1952, he was imprisoned for his participation in the Language Movement. He was awarded posthumous “Matribhasha Padak 2001”, for his role in the language movement. He was also a freedom fighter of our Liberation War of 1971.
Late Justice Ansar Ali was very much known for his legal acumen, knowledge and pleasing personality. He was an ardent supporter to establish the rule of law and the independence of judiciary. He was a disciplined judge and earned confidence of all by his landmark reported judgments. His youngest son, Justice Ahmed Sohel is a sitting judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
On his 26th Death Anniversary, Quran Khwani and Doa Mahfil will be held at his village home in Naogaon District and also at Banani Graveyard to mark the day.
