30 schools in Kallyanpur closed on security grounds
The authorities have declared all 30 schools closed in Dhaka’s Kallyanpur area on security grounds.
All the schools and educational institution in the area were declared closed on Tuesday morning.
Holy Crescent Model School Headmaster S Ahmad Khan Shafiul said the schools were closed for the day following the suggestion of the law enforcers.
He said: “I went to school in the morning and after talking to the other school authorities and guardians about the law enforcement agencies suggestion, we decide to close the schools.”
Nine militants were killed and two of their accomplices were taken in custody by the law enforcement agencies during the raid at a house in Kallyanpur.
Police primarily suspect that they were members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
