BGC Trust University and NILS Bangladesh have completed jointly a legal debate
Tanjina Akter Tanni & Sifur Rahman Khan: NILS (The Network for International Law Students) is the fastest growing International, nonprofitable and non political law students Association of the glove. It has many chapters in a good number of universities of Bangladesh also which often offer various career-oriented as well as skill development programs.
BGC Trust University Bangladesh is a prominent private university at Chittagong. The institution is always concerned about the skill of the students of its own. Even so, in this pandemic Covid 19 time they have continued its activities with extracurricular activities also, such as — Summer school by department of CSE, Virtual English debate fest 2020 by English department etc.
In continuance of the glory, this time Department of Law, BGCTUB & NILS Bangladesh with NILS BGCTUB Chapter have successfully completed “The BGCTUB NILS Intra Legal Debate Championship, 2020 ” on the theme of “Young Law Students to be energetic and positive.”
After a two days long Training sessions, a long Intra Debate competition on 9th and 10th September 2020 has been launched which has been run for two days.
This two days long competition are leaded and organized by Shamima kawsar, Abdullah AL kafi, Core-organiser of NILS Bangladesh Tanveer kaisar Anindya, Jahirul haque And other organizers are namely Saifur Rahman Khan (core organizers of NILS Bangladesh), Tanjina Akter Tanny, Afroza Beg Panna, Kazi Nafia Mosharat, Habibur Rahman, Abdullah Al Majed, Al Tawfiq Mahmud Rizvi, Sanjida Afrin,Mohammad Abu Mohsin, Mohammad Maruf ul Karim.
The Adjudicators of the competition were- Syeda Rumman, Assistant Professor, Department of Law; Md. Abdul Hannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Law; Joysree Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy; Asma Al Amin, Assistant Professor, Department of Law; Aminul Haque Siddique, Lecturer, Department of Law; Md. Reduanul Haque, Lecturer, Department of Law. Sidratul Muntaha Trina, Lecturer, Department of Law; and Ahmed Hossain Hirak, Organizing Secretary, NILS CU Chapter, Core Organizer NILS Bangladesh.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Nazneen Akhter, Chairman, Department of Law, BGC Trust University. Besides, Prof.M. Yousuf Chowdhury, Treasurer, BGC Trust University Bangladesh, D. Narayam Boddhy, Exam Controller, BGC Trust University Bangladesh, AFM Akhtaruzzaman Kaiser, Registrar, BGC Trust University Bangladesh were also present .
The closing ceremony was ornamented by other guests namely Chief guests: prof. DR. Saroj Kanti Singh Hazari, Vice-Chancellor, BGC Trust University; Special guests: Prof. ABM Abu Noman, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Chittagong; Dr. Mohammad Morshed Imtiaz, Special Judge (District and Sessions Judge), Special Judge Court, Mymensingh, and Advocate A. H. M Zia Uddin, General Secretary, Chittagong District Bar Association.
The program was anchored by Tanvir Kaiser Anindo, Convener, NILS CU Chapter and Shamima Kawser, Organizer, NILS BGCTUB Chapter.
The Champion team is “SUI JURIS” and runners up team is ” LAW VERINE”. Sajjad Uddin Hasan has bagged the debater of the tournament & Debater of the final award.
